Mission
Creating alternative experiences because each learner deserves different, not less.
Vision
Ferguson is committed to empowering passionate global citizens who are devoted to lifelong learning, celebrating differences, and positively impacting their world.
“We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining — they just shine.”Dwight L. Moody
Lighthouse Lab Handbook:
The links below outline processes and procedures specific to the Lighthouse Lab program at Ferguson High School. These guidelines and expectations are in addition to those already detailed in the Ferguson High School Family Handbook.
What is Lighthouse Lab?
Harold Ferguson High School is proud to feature Lighthouse Lab, a Tier II Intervention Program that serves as a modern "guiding light" for students who require targeted academic, behavioral, or social-emotional support. This program provides a comprehensive range of resources, including small group support, intensive skill-building, and goal-focused mentoring, all aimed at helping students overcome personal challenges and remain on track for graduation. In alignment with the FHS mission that "each learner deserves different, not less," Lighthouse Lab prioritizes social-emotional growth by fostering resilience, self-awareness, and positive relationships. Through a structured level system centered on "Portrait of a Graduate" success criteria, which includes developing as a citizen, collaborator, critical thinker, communicator, and self-advocate, students are empowered to build their own unique pathways toward a successful and brighter future.
